5 things l wish someone told me when l was 18

Last week l was sitting at the beach reflecting about my life & how l have ended up where l am right now. I traveled in time, back to my teenage hood & managed to come up with 5 things l wish someone told me when l was 18 years old:

1. Make your passion a career
There is no day l have regretted going to university because l desired that experience & managed to learn skills required to take my passions to another level. I believe at age 18, after high school or before you go to college, this is the most important moment you must have self-awareness & self-realization: know who you are, talents & skills you naturally possess because that’s what you were created to do for the rest of your life & everything else is secondary. There is no point of going to study law whilst you are naturally good at soccer. Surely l can say it with no hesitation, if you ignore to figure out your natural skills & passions you will spend the rest of your life in hell, suffering & complaining about how unfair life is.

2. Don’t take anything seriously
Don’t even take serious what l am writing about because there is no reason to. We are here on earth to remember who we are. When we were born we caused ourselves to forget who we are & where we came from but the game we have to play now is to create, experience & remember who we are. There is nothing to do on earth except what is already happening. Living is the only game in town whether we like it or not we have to play it. Separate yourself from your temporary emotions & move through life experiences without getting attached to anything or take anything personally. Everything is happening the way it is supposed to happen & don’t take any results, events or anything seriously, just live for the adventure & forget the security.


3. lgnore everyone
Ignore me, ignore your parents, ignore your relatives, ignore your friends & ignore everyone! Who is that person trying to tell you what you should with your own life? Whenever you have a question about life, career, relationship, finance or anything just pray & then go in silence for a while that’s where you will find the real answer. Everything is within, God is within & l am within you. Listen to your heart & let the universe guide you. I am preaching my practices & I surely tell you that you don’t need any pastor, prophet or councilor because you have everything you are looking for. All the answers you are searching are found in silence.


4. Be yourself
You don’t need to impress anyone in life but aim on expressing who you are & share the gifts you are created to deliver on this planet. Wear what you feel like wearing not to impress the eyes of people. Buy what you want to buy not to impress the eyes of people. Live your life according to your values & if you don’t have them take 30mins today to sit down & write them. Remove your thoughts from worldly noises, media, music, TV programs or anything that is trying to program your thoughts to think in a certain way & focus on expressing who you are. Focus on creative thoughts of expressing who you are rather than reactive thoughts that are being send to you by the worldly noises. When l say be yourself l am not talking about this piece of flesh that you are. You are a spirit & Devine being wearing the body. You have the power to create whatever you desire in this life. Know who you are, be yourself & act like God because you are!

5. Everything is temporary
Anything that you are seeing & experiencing right now is temporary. If you love me just let me know because l am not here to stay. Know & accept the flows of life. One day you are going to wake up feeling sad or negative & the next morning you are going to wake up feeling happy & positive & that’s good because those are flows of life. Friends are going to come & go. Your parents are going to die. You are going to miss the past & things you used to do with certain people. .You are not going to be a teenager for the rest of your life. Your hair is going to turn grey. Your breasts are going to fall down. Your face & chin is going to grow beard but just travel & pass those life experiences without getting attached to anything because everything is temporary.

In conclusion, don’t live your life with hate & fear in your heart because starting today & right now I will live through you, making you what l never was. Don’t forget to know that the people who stand by your side at your worst are people who truly love you. I love you & be who you were created to be & don’t forget to keep on reminding yourself that you are a creator & designer of your life. If you live everyday fully, once is enough.
