Everyone has an opinion
l believe many people have heard the story of an uncle & his nephew who
were travelling from village going to town. Before they commenced their
journey, they took a bag of clothes & a horse to ride. At the first scene,
the uncle was riding a horse & his nephew was walking. They met a young man
on their way. He was shocked to see that Uncle John was riding a horse while
his nephew was walking. He told the uncle that he was abusing his nephew by
letting him walk on a sunny day while he enjoyed a ride on a horse. The uncle
understood his wrongness, he exchanged with nephew & he began to walk while
his nephew rode the horse.
They met an old woman on their way. The woman told uncle john that it was
disrespectful for the nephew to ride a horse while the uncle is walking on a
sunny day. The uncle understood, they both began to walk bare footed while the
horse was carrying a bag. They met another man on their way. He started to
laugh of how foolish these two guys were, to walk while the horse was strong
enough to carry both of them. They got on a horse & met a woman who was
specialized in animal rights. She told them they were abusing an animal by over
laggage. Ladies & gentlemen to summarize the story, by the time the uncle
& nephew reached in town, they were carrying the horse on their heads
because they were listening to what the society was telling them to do.
lt happens every day in our lives. Parents chose college programs or career
they want for their children & ignore the dreams & talents of their
children. Some people are afraid of trying new hair styles, different fashion,
new careers & new relationships because they let the opinions & voices
of the society influence them. Some people can’t even start a business or chase
their dreams because they let the discouragement from society ruins them. The
society tells you when to marry, what to wear, who to hang around with &
the type of music you should listen. A friend of Pastor Joel Osteen said when
you are 20 years old, you care a lot about what people think about you. When
you are 40 years old, you stop caring of what people think or say about you.
When you are 60 years, you realize no one cares about the way you live your
life
How to stop caring about what people think?
- Make your own decisions
Your future & destiny is in your hands & you are the captain of
your own ship. Don’t let your parents, friends, loved ones or whoever decide
your career. Few days ago l was watching Oprah Winfrey inspirational biography.
She went separate ways with her parents because they didn’t want her to become
an actress. Fast forwarding to 2018: she is arguable the most powerful women in
the world.
- Know what you want in life
What do you want in your life? You have to specifically know what you want
in your life. You want a car? Which color? Which make & model? Which year
was it manufactured? Know exactly what you want to achieve in your life. Sometimes
you waste your time helping people who don’t know where they are going because
they are already there.
3. Don’t give a fuck
Don’t let the voices of the society influence you. Let the opinions of people
get into one ear & leave with another ear. Life is what you make it, become
responsible & self-reliance at early age.
In conclusion: the same people who tell you what you should with your own
life have no clue of what they want to do with their own lives.
