What do the say about you?

When l was growing up, I basically did not care what people think or say about me.
It actually worked to a certain extent. But when l was working on partnering up with other big players
& negotiating deals with global brands, l realized they had to do a research about my background
& take into account what people think & say about me.

Generally people want to work with someone they can trust & they can verify that through your
reputation. In this digital world, before l visit a restaurant, vacation place or buy a product, l go on
google & review what other people think & say about the service who have experienced it before.
If there are lot of negative reviews, l move on to the next product or service.

Even in dating game, some potential lovers before they decide to go on a date with you or to
marry you, they do a quick research & review about what other people think & say about you.
Nowadays, companies who want to hire you or do business with you, go through your name
on social media, google & look for reference because they don’t care what you say about yourself
but they verify by listening to what other people think & say about you.

In life you should be careful about what you say or do because someone is always watching,
listening, recording or shot screen. Think twice & act once. Act as if the world is watching
every move that you do because it actually does. Integrity & honesty are important in life.
Be honest with your creator, be honest with people you deal with & be honest to yourself.
If you don’t trust yourself who will trust you?

Many celebrities make more money selling their reputation to corporations who want the public
to associate their brands with a celebrity image. The make more money in celebrity endorsement
compared to their professional salaries.Tiger Wood & Wayne Rooney lost a couple of millions
from celebrity endorsement after their reputation went negative due to cheating wives.The companies
who were using these celebrities to promote their brands drop them off. Even Chris Brown album sales
dropped after beating his ex girlfriend Rihanna. Lil Wayne learned the hard way that you have to be
careful about what you rap about. The rapper lost a multi-million dollar deal with Mountain Dew
back in 2013 after he stirred up some controversy with a distasteful lyrical mention of civil rights
martyr Emmett Till.Don’t set your name in anything you will be ashamed of.It takes a lifetime to
build your reputation & one foolish act to destroy it, if you think about that, you will do things differently.

In life you don’t just have your name but you have your name & whatever people say about it.
As long what they say is good; everything will take care of itself from financial success, career
success &  relationship success. 

In conclusion, if you want to be in game for too long, what people think & say about you matters :
always build & maintain a good reputation. Success in life result from good relationship with people.
Spend time building good relationships instead of chasing accomplishments. Proverbs 22:1 says
“A good name is more desirable than great wealth. Respect is better than silver or gold.”
