Conquering the world in your 20’s
Leaving teenagerhood & get into your 20’s can be overwhelming & confusing at the same time. Lot of people build or destroy their lives at this stage but whatever happens, it doesnt matter anywhere because this is just a game & you have to play your cards well.
How can you conquer the world in your 20s?
1. Build a variety of skills
At this life stage you should be focusing on building a variety of skills related to your natural gifts, life purpose & passion. For example, if your want to start a saloon, you can volunteer to work in a saloon for free while you are learning essential skills, every part of the business, the suppliers, customer profile & copy the business model they are using. Even if you have a plan to be an entrepreneur, work in the industry you want to enter & gain unfair advantage you can use when you are running your own business. This life stage is a perfect time to build a solid foundation & get prepared for the next stage of life. Individuals who build variety of skills in their 20’s have unfair advantage in life when they are in 30’s. Selling skill is one of the most important skill people should learn especially in their 20’s because it can gives you a competitive edge in any career you will choose to focus on & few weeks ago l wrote an article emphasizing on importance of learning selling skills. 2. Change careers alot
I have been criticized a lot for changing careers frequently by certain individuals who could not understand the purpose behind my action. Sometimes you think you want to be a doctor or a nurse before you work in a hospital. If you can volunteer to work in a clinic or hospital for 3 months experiencing your desire you will be certain & confident that this is what you want to spend the rest of your life doing or you need to try something else. From August 2017 to August 2018 l had worked in at least 10 different companies. Changing careers when you are young & unmarried can help you to discover what you are good at, what you dislike, what you like & who you are. There is nothing wrong to first experience a career you are interested in before you fully commit to spend the rest of your life doing it. You will spend at least 60% of your day at work so find something that you truly enjoy doing.
3. Take risk
When you are in your 20’s experience life to the fullest: build businesses, travel & live in a new city hundreds of miles away from family & experience the life you always wanted to live when you were young. Moving out of your parents house can teach you how to be self-reliant & responsible while you are still young. This is not the time to settle down in marriage unless you don't have an exclusive passionate plan with your life. Take a lot of risks while you are still unmarried, without kids & many responsibilities. 1 Corinthians 7:8 says "Here is my advice for people who have never been married and for widows. You should stay single, just as I am. 9 But if you don’t have enough self-control, then go ahead and get married. After all, it is better to marry than to burn with desire. 27 If you are married, stay married. If you are not married, don’t try to get married. 28 It isn’t wrong to marry, even if you have never been married before. But those who marry will have a lot of trouble, and I want to protect you from that."
4. Fail fast & fail forward
If l did not spend money foolishly at university & the days after, l would not have learned financial skills. I learned the importance of developing & maintaining relationships with people the hard way. I did not put effort to stay connected with my loved ones because l was selfish & invested 100% of my time in making my dreams became reality. Friends & family are more important than money. I fucked up a lot in my life. I started a business with wrong partners & after the venture became successful l got kicked out. I no longer judge from outward appearance to pick a random business partner or investor to collaborate with but l now use wisdom to do so. Fucking up a lot & experience the negative effects can program you not to repeat the foolish act next time. Fail fast & fail forward in your 20’s & you will still have time to recover while you are still young.
5. Get to know your creator
Misery, depression, disease, suffering, addiction & all kinds of negativity result from a lack of personal relationship with your creator. The manufacture of television gives you a manual book on how to use the tv set, the do’s & dont’s explaining the right environment to put your television set. For example, the manufacturer will say if you put the tv into the water or swimming pool it will be damaged & stop working. The same concept works with the Creator who created you. Our creator gave us a manual script about life which contain universal laws, principles of success, how to live your life better & survive the condition of the earth. If you follow the manual script it will work in your favor but if you ignore it your life will be a hell. Develop a personal relationship with your creator l love to call “My Father”, speak to him every day, ask him anything you want to know & he will be ready to answer you the same way he answers me. Ecclesiastes 12:1 says "Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.”
